Frequently asked questions
- What are security labels?
Security Labels are designed to stick onto surfaces
to deter unauthorised access.
- How do security labels work?
There are many different ways to solve a security
sealing problem with security labels. It is very important that the correct
materials are used for that exact application. Using the wrong material
can permanently damage a valuable surface (eg an aircraft door) or even
a security label could provide absolutely no security at all as it just
peels off! Security labels work by deforming or changing characteristics
in some way to give a clear visual indication of tampering or removal
and reapplication. Labels can stretch and deform, destruct into tiny pieces,
change colour or delaminate to show tampering. The correct mechanism for
each application needs to be decided by an expert.
- Why use customised security labels?
We design and manufacture uniquely customised
security labels, as security labels that are not unique in any way are
much more liable to copying and counterfeit attacks. Numbering is often
preferred to enhance traceability and prevent duplication, and we guarentee
never to reproduce your label design for another client. There are many
retailers of mass produced security labels to be found on ebay and the
web, but these products are invariably cheap, inferior, mass produced
counterfiet copies of our products that are often sold with no thought
of the end use application. Security Labels International will work with
you to develop a superior cost effective customised security label design
that will give you peace of mind that you are securing your application
with a professionally specified solution that will be a real deterrent
too.
- Is customising security labels expensive?
No. Like any purchase, you do get what you pay
for, but specialise in bespoke security labels, and will offer you a solution
that meets both your technical requirements and your budget.
- Do all security labels leave a messy residue on removal?
No. Early security label technology almost invariabely
left a residue , but our modern proprietry technology allow us to produce
custom security labels that leave a high residue or no residue. A good
example of a no residue label is our flagship LabelLock
range
- What is the best security label product for my application?
We will happily answer this question for you
free of charge, just email or call us with a
breif outline of your application and we will guide you towards the best
solution.
- Can I order a small quantity, say 1000 labels only?
Yes. Many of our customers only order small quantities,
and we are very experienced at putting together a cost effective solution
for short run clients. As you will understand, certain technologies are
not cost effective to manufacture in very small quantities, so for some
security label features we do ask for orders above a minimum order quantity.
- How long have Security Labels International been manufacturing security
labels?
Security Labels International
are part of the Mercian Labels
Group, and we have been manufacturing security labels since 1969 for
clients across the world, from small businesses to major blue chip FTSE
100 companies. We believe that our experience in security labelling speaks
volumes about our ability to meet customer expectations in this technically
challenging field.
- Do you export?
Yes. We export our bespoke security labels across
the world, with previous clients in many different countries. We do work
with local distribution partners in some countries, and if possible we
will put you in touch with your local distributor.
- Can I become a distributor?
If you have suitable commercial experience and
expertise in security labelling and are looking for a superior security
label supplier, then we would be pleased to discuss a distribution arrangement
with you.
